Description

Sarken crampons are 12-point technical mountaineering crampons. A technical crampon at the forefront of technology, which will take you anywhere.

Sarken crampons are ideal for anybody headed out into mixed terrain. They are the 4x4 of crampons!
The T-shaped front points are designed for excellent penetration in hard ice and stable front pointing on mixed terrain while providing solid purchase in snow and neve.

Petzl have increased the versatility of their crampon range, and have now made all the front sections of all their models compatible with each other. This means you can suit your crampons to your technical activity.

Technical crampons:
- thinner frame which is rigid and very sturdy,
- reduced weight.
LEVERLOCK UNIVERSEL binding: compatible with all glacier travel and mountaineering boots with rear welts; the components (FIL or FLEX) make them adaptable to all types of boot toe (with or without welts).
ANTISNOW system, included with crampons, limits snow buildup in any snow conditions.

* Four teeth for stability when descending while facing downhill.
* Lateral points for purchase while traversing.

The benefits of Petzl boots: simple, accurate, reliable adjustment that doesn't need tools

Adjustment is an essential phase optimising how well the crampon holds onto the boot. It is indispensable for both performance and safety, and must be precise, simple and reliable.
In order to ensure a perfect fit for any type of boot, Petzl Charlet crampons and binding systems are adjustable at several levels. No tools are needed and these adjustments can be carried out in the field ensuring easy adjustment of your crampons as you go.

Semi-rigid or articulated position:
Depending on the stiffness of the boot, the crampon can be set to a semi-rigid or articulated position.
You can make this adjustment at the top of the linking bar, under the front section.
The ANTISNOW was designed to avoid interfering with the crampon's articulation (Petzl Charlet patent).

Adjustment accommodates half sizes (no tools required)
:
The linking bar between the front section and heel piece has holes for half-sizes (Petzl Charlet patented).
No tools are needed for adjustment due to the spring-mounted system in use.
The spring mounting is locked by the sole and by the tensioning of the crampon when you put it on.

Optimising fitting crampons to the boot:
In most binding models, the front and rear wire bails can be adjusted: they can be moved forward or backward to adjust the length to the perfect fit, depending on the size of the boot welts.
The wire bails can also be offset to fit technical boots with asymmetrical shapes.
These adjustments don't require any tools.

The DoubleBack buckles don't need the strap securing as they are self-locking. They are always in the locked position and can be adjusted by a single movement. Tightening the strap is therefore fast and simple.
