As it's in direct contact with the skin, the base layer must be carefully chosen to provide the snowboarder with all the comfort and technicality expected. Lightweight, highly breathable and non-irritating, ski base layers must diffuse heat and allow perspiration to escape without generating any odour. "Warm" technology provides insulation, heat and perspiration wicking in many models. For optimal comfort, the smooth edge seams, placed away from friction areas, reduce thickness as much as possible and avoid any chaffing. The half-zip systems featured in some ski base layer models regulate heat and ventilation in the neck and chest areas. This revolutionary control system is activated by perspiration. When the skier isn't sweating, the warm air produced by the body reinforces the thermal insulation of the ski base layer. On the other hand, at the slightest hint of sweating, the cooling process is activated and helps to keep the body at a normal temperature. To keep your legs warm, you can choose base-layer clothing from the many models of capri pants, boxers and regulating tights, ideal for intensive and versatile sports practice, or simple tights that are both breathable and warm, soft inside and incomparably comfortable.
