Ohm II is a locking system for the Edelrid brand, fixed upstream on the first piton of the belay chain.
This is a system developed by Edelrid to prevent the belayer from being thrown high when the difference in weight with the climber is too great. Here is the second Ohm version with a few improvements to make it easier to use.
It therefore compensates for the difference in weight between the lighter belayer and the heavier climber. Ohm II is attached to the first quickdraw, allowing you to slow down gradually in the event of a fall, independently of the belay system. The risk of collision is therefore reduced.

- Much less force for the insurer to mobilise in the event of a fall
- Descent by a heavier climber who is much easier to control
- Fits on the first piton of the belay chain
- In the event of a fall from the first piton, the device reduces the risk of a possible fall to the ground
- No handling restrictions for the leader (no friction when the belayer gives slack)
- Increases the belayer's weight by 25 kg
- Minimum weight of the insurer : 40kg
- For single strings 8.9 - 11.0 mm
- Approved rope diameter: 8.9 - 11 mm
- CE marking: CE 0123
- Weight: 450g
- Made in Germany
