It is a screwgate HMS carabiner. The ropes will be properly positioned thanks to its shape. The aluminium construction Nimbus Lock makes it extremely resistant; it also complies with the and EN 12275 H standards EN 362 B. The Nimbus Lock has a so-called "pear-shaped" shape for attaching multiple ropes, straps or other equipment, and makes it easier to swing the knot when belaying using a half-capstan.
