Magic Ring

The Magic Ring is a self-locking knot system from the brand Grivel.

Designed to lighten your climbing or mountaineering harness, the Magic Ring allows you to set up a prussik, machard or other self-locking knot without the need for a carabiner.

All you need to do is first pass the large loop leading alouette around the trigger guard of the harness. Then braid your self-locking knot around your rope. Finally, lock the system by passing the rope end ring around the metal ring.
