Classified as type 1/B, it features an ergonomic head made of Chromoly steel and a curved shaft in anodised aluminium, a combination of materials that explains its exceptional lightness. Additionally, its hammer is very effective for placing ice screws or pitons, while its “banana” pick will surprise you with its ease of penetration. Finally, its compactness makes it easy to carry inside your pack.
Fully equipped (with adze and guards included), the Akila ice axe is equally at home on steep slopes as in mixed terrain, making it a must-have for all your adventures.
