The Backland 85 is a men's touring ski from the brand Atomic. This model is the most versatile of the range, it will perform equally well on both uphill and downhill.
The Backland range's success comes from its perfect adaptation to both aspects of ski touring. Indeed, the Light Woodcore allows the weight of the ski to be optimised without sacrificing shock absorption or stability. Moreover, it is just as efficient on packed snow as in powder.
This new version features the Horizon 3D Backland tip which features a wider, uniquely beveled three-dimensional tip and increased surface area to create a ski that floats better on powder and improves ski handling in variable conditions. The Cap Sidewall construction guarantees ideal power transmission and excellent grip on all types of terrain and the tip rocker makes riding easy on all types of snow.
They are very versatile, perform well on all types of terrain and offer stability worthy of alpine skis. In addition, the full-length fiberglass layers allow the ski to be smooth and stable while remaining light and dynamic.
The Backland 85 is designed for easy ascents and excellent downhill performance in all types of snow.

Construction:
- Light Woodcore : Poplar core optimises the weight of the ski without sacrificing shock absorption or stability.
- Dura Cap Sidewall : Solid edge construction under the bindings, from the sole to the lining, for good power transmission control and exceptional grip.

- All Mountain Rocker : 15% tip rocker / 85% Traditional camber: tip rocker that smoothes out uneven terrain and makes it easier to enter turns.
Technologies :
- HZRN 3D Backland : HRZN 3D features a wider, uniquely beveled three-dimensional tip and increased surface area to create a ski that floats better on powder and improves ski handling in variable conditions. By using a thinner, almost transparent perforated material in its construction, HRZN 3D also reduces the weight of the ski for more ease, speed and power. The HRZN 3D is perfectly integrated into the Dura Cap , which allows for a hyper-reactive connection between the tip and the edge and increased durability.
