- Pole length: there are charts to help you choose the right pole length for your height, but you can also use a simple method. Hold the pole below the basket and alongside your leg. Your elbow should form a 90° angle. You should also consider the type of activity when choosing pole length. For example, touring poles are longer than freestyle ski poles.
- Pole material: most often, the shaft is made of aluminium. This is a lightweight and durable material. Other materials are also used by Atomic, such as carbon, which significantly reduces vibrations.
- Basket size: medium baskets are versatile, large baskets are for powder snow off-piste, and small diameters are for piste skiing.
