Description

Nikwax ’s Fabric & Leather Proof is aneasy-to-use water-based waterproofingsprayfor fabric and leather shoes.

Waterproofs and preserves the structure, texture and breathability of all shoes made from a combination of materials (Polyamide, Cordura, leather, etc.)

Why does breathability depend on water resistance...

It is highly likely that, due to perspiration, your breathable shoes will get wet inside and make your feet feel clammy in damp conditions. If the outer fabric or leather absorbs water, the shoe will lose its breathability. Therefore, the durable water-repellent (DWR) treatment on your shoes needs to be maintained to ensure they remain comfortable. Over time, it will fade, so you’ll need to reapply it using Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™.

Waterproof shoes need to be breathable...

When you wear shoes and take part in physical activity, your socks absorb the moisture produced by your feet to keep them dry. However, if your shoes absorb water and become 'wet', their breathability will be reduced. The water vapour won’t be able to escape through the fabric, so you’ll feel clammy and wet. Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ adds a Durable Water-repellent (DWR) treatment, which prevents water absorption whilst maintaining breathability, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.

Waterproof and breathable shoes are ideal for anyone who spends time outdoors...

Anyone working outdoors in wet conditions will benefit from Waterproof and breathable footwear. Whether you’re a mountaineer or a dog walker, or whether you work outdoors on a farm or are a surveyor, you’ll need a good pair of shoes.

Use Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ when your shoes get wet...

Your shoes might get wet if they're dirty. First, wash them with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel®; if they are practically new or have recently been re-waterproofed, the Durable Water-repellent (DWR) treatment will be restored simply by washing them. However, once the shoes have been well used, you will need to re-waterproof them using Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ after washing them with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel®.

How does Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ protect...

Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ is quick and easy to apply; simply spray it onto wet shoes. Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ provides a Durable Water-repellent (DWR) treatment that develops as the fabric air-dries. The product leaves a flexible water-repellent finish on the individual fibres of the fabric and leather. This allows water vapour to traverse, maintaining breathability and keeping your feet dry. Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ has been specially formulated for shoes made from a combination of fabric and leather.

Like all Nikwax products, Nikwax Fabric & Leather Proof™ is safe to use...

Nikwax takes great care to minimise the impact of Nikwax products on the environment and on you, the consumer. Nikwax waterproofing and restorative products are water-based, non-aerosol, non-flammable, safe to use and environmentally friendly. They do not contain any harmful solvents or volatile organic compounds (VOCs), nor do they contain any fluorocarbons (which can persist in the environment and have been linked to serious health problems).
