Avalanche safety pack -
The Set Mini IPS is an avalanche safety pack containing the Mini IPS transceiver, the T640 Telescopic shovel, and the Alu 260 Sport probe from the brand Pieps.
T640 Telescopic Shovel :
This shovel is lightweight and compact.
It features a handle equipped with a T-grip with anti-slip grooves for a secure hold. Its weight is kept as light as possible and its telescopic handle allows for easy storage in your bag. It offers extreme durability thanks to its aluminium alloy and special coating. Finally, it has sharp edges to facilitate cutting through hard snow. It is particularly suited for ski touring use thanks to its excellent weight-to-strength ratio.
Alu 260 Sport Probe :
This probe is designed to confirm an initial search and determine the exact position of the victim.
When combined with a transceiver and shovel, it is part of the essential equipment for mountaineers and rescuers. It is a 260 cm long probe made of aluminium with a diameter of 12.5 mm and weighs 295 g. The probe features the Speed Cone system which enables rapid extension. It also has a secure and quick locking system once deployed. This probe is graduated in centimetres allowing you to read the burial depth of the victim and determine the snow profile. Finally, it includes a compact attachment elastic loop for optimal retention in your bag.
Mini IPS :
Ultra-compact transceiver designed to offer maximum safety without compromising on performance, suitable for both beginners and experts who prioritise lightness and high technology.
Its very compact size and featherweight of 158 g including batteries allow it to be easily stored in your pocket. This transceiver is equipped with the Interference Protection System (IPS), an innovative system that ensures maximum signal stability during transmission and protects the device from interference, guaranteeing optimal power to maximise the chances of being located. This technology complements the excellent signal processing quality which delivers reliable and consistent directional indications even in critical situations. The adjustable dynamic bandwidth (50, 35, and 20 metres) offers a maximum range of 50 metres for the initial search.
The Mini IPS is also equipped with the Auto Search-to-Send (Auto-Revert) which automatically switches the transceiver to transmit mode after a period of inactivity thanks to a motion sensor. The Ghost Signal Elimination function filters out false signals from non-transceiver sources to facilitate searching. The user experience is optimised by the Search Assist Plus feature, a visual aid displayed at the top of the screen indicating the correct search speed. This pictographic guidance shows whether to accelerate, slow down in a controlled manner, or lower the device towards the snow, ensuring the correct pace is maintained both during the initial search phase and the precise final search phase.
The device also integrates a quick and reliable group check function, allowing all transceivers in the group to be tested before departure, with an adjustable check distance of 3 metres via the PIEPS app. Power is supplied by two AAA batteries (minimum lifespan of 300 hours with alkaline batteries and 400 hours with lithium batteries). Moreover, thanks to Bluetooth® connectivity and the PIEPS app, software updates can be installed, individual settings managed, and full device control performed, ensuring the Mini IPS is always up to date and ready for use. Additional features, such as the power-off reminder and the switch lock mechanism, enhance the operational reliability of this ultra-compact and sophisticated transceiver.

| Interference Protection System (IPS) | Unique technology that compensates for the influence of electronic and metallic interference on the transmitting device by analysing and adapting to the source of interference. Ensures maximum signal stability and reliably protects against electronic interference in transmission mode. Compensates for a large part of interference, but a minimum distance from potential interference sources is recommended: 20 cm in transmission mode and 50 cm in search mode. |
| Search Assist Plus | Visual aid with pictographic instructions to choose the correct search speed. A small figure icon on the screen indicates the movement speed (accelerate, slow down in a controlled manner, or lower the device). Makes searching more intuitive, smooth and controlled, helping beginners and professionals maintain pace. |
