DVA BARRYVOX S2:

The Barryvox S2 from Mammut is a top-of-the-range avalanche transceiverdesigned for use in risky mountain terrain: off-piste, freeride, mountaineering and ski touring.

The brand is committed to developing ever more effective avalanche transceivers that can be adapted to any situation, so that every rescue can be carried out without wasting a second.

Specifications:
This device has a maximum range of 70 metres. The Barryvox S2 assists you in the rescue: the device shows you the distance, the direction to follow and the number of buried subjects (up to 16). Sound search guidance makes it easier to locate buried people. Its operating time in SEND mode is 550 h with lithium batteries and 450 h with alkaline batteries, and approximately one hour in SEARCH mode.

Ease of use:
Mammut has reworked its casing and interface, making the information easy to read, the device easy to handle with gloves and the casing shock-resistant. The case can be handled with gloves and is shock-resistant, while the MIP screen can be read even with polarised glasses. Voice guidance assists you in using your avalanche transceiver at every stage of the search. The wrong-way function prevents you from going in the opposite direction to the victim(s). The Barryvox S2 manages, reduces and warns you of interference. To facilitate communication between several rescuers, Barryvox S2 is equipped with an additional Bluetooth communication channel, which protects you from interference and allows you to be more efficient, particularly in complex rescue situations. In the event of a very deep burial, the fine search is automatically launched earlier (3 metres); people buried at depth are marked up to a distance of 6 metres.

Advanced features:
The adjustment Pro-Search setting combines a Digital display with an Analog tone and allows you to switch to Alternative search mode. On this top-of-the-range model, the functions can be set manually : acoustic guidance, voice guidance, visual guidance, Pro Test, detection of vital information, definition of the delay for sending help, automatic switchover from search mode to transmit mode.

Multi-victim mode:
The Barryvox S2 allows you to view up to 16 victims simultaneously. In the event of a multi-victimburial, you can mark the victims separately. This avoids conflicting signals and improves efficiency. The Auto-Select function prevents you from straying by automatically directing you towards the strongest signal. The Bluetooth channel on Barryvox S2 can also be used to transmitvital information from victims, to optimise decision-making.

Carrying system:
The envelope BarryMount in which you can slip your Barryvox S2 is very well made. Fitted for practical, one-handed operation without removing your gloves. It prevents from unwanted activation of your device.

Lifeguard safety:
The main Button incorporates security SafeLock to prevent unintentional activation of reception mode. The Barryvox S2 also has a Pro Checkmode so you can check that the avalanche transceivers of the people accompanying you are working properly, using the device's instructions as a guide. The Barryvox S2 performs regular Automatic self-tests and alerts you to any faults. What's more, if no movement on your part is detected for 4 minutes, Barryvox S2 assumes an over-avalanche and automatically switches to SENDmode.
