Mount to Coast is a young American brand launched with the idea of designing shoes built for long distances. Officially launched in 2024, it quickly caught the attention of ultra-runners with its R1, a road shoe that has broken world records and won awards at the toughest races, such as the Badwater 135.
On Snowleader, you'll find Mount to Coast models for men and women, suitable for both road and trail running.
Behind Mount to Coast is a team of outdoor engineers and long-distance athletes who set out to rethink running shoes based on a simple observation: ultra races place demands that standard models struggle to meet. This led to a focus on long-lasting cushioning, stability, and energy return for efforts far beyond marathon distance.
The brand was quickly recognised in the industry, notably winning the ISPO Award in 2023 for its prototype, and being named “Best New Brand 2024” by the American press.
The R1 is the brand's flagship running shoe, the model that put Mount to Coast in the spotlight. Features include LightCELL foam (PEBA-based, 50% lighter than EVA), ZeroSag inserts for cushioning, and a double TUNEDFIT lacing system. An 8 mm drop and a wide toe box make it ideal for very long runs.
The H1 is the versatile road-to-trail option. Designed to transition seamlessly from tarmac to trail, it features a CircleCELL sole made from renewable biopolymer and VersaGrip traction for varied terrain. A great choice for those who mix surfaces in a single run.
The T1 is the brand's pure trail running shoe. LightCELL foam for cushioning, Vibram Megagrip sole for traction on both dry and wet ground, and a reinforced aramid fibre upper for technical terrain. A model designed for trail runners seeking a balance between long-term comfort and support on the trail.
Mount to Coast is aimed at runners looking for shoes that can handle several hours or even days of effort. Whether for an ultra road race, a long trail, or demanding daily training, the range covers both road and mountain outings.
